Retail Supervisor — Year-Round, Part-Time

The Retail Supervisor must be called to the ministry of Mt. Gilead and have a vital, growing relationship with Jesus Christ. Godly character, initiative, organization, responsibility, and a servant-hearted attitude are essential for this position. The Retail Supervisor plays an important role in creating a welcoming and enjoyable experience for campers and guests by overseeing the operations of Mt. Gilead’s Gift Store, Snack Shack, and vending machine. This position requires a high level of personal initiative, dependability, and time management, as the Retail Supervisor is trusted to independently organize their workload and ensure responsibilities are completed with minimal oversight. This position combines hands-on customer service with behind-the-scenes organization, inventory management, custom merchandise design/sourcing, and staff supervision to ensure our retail spaces operate smoothly and efficiently. Gilead’s Gift Store, Snack Shack, and vending machine Independently plan and manage daily tasks and work schedules to ensure retail operations run smoothly Proactively identify needs, solve problems, and complete responsibilities without requiring frequent oversight Create and manage staff schedules to ensure appropriate coverage during operating hours Train, supervise, and support staff assigned to retail operations Serve campers and guests by operating registers, processing purchases, and providing excellent customer service Monitor inventory levels, order merchandise and supplies, and ensure products are consistently restocked Maintain attractive, organized, and well-stocked merchandise displays Track product sales and inventory to assist with purchasing decisions and reduce waste Keep accurate records and manage reports and inventory records for accounting and tax purposes Oversee cash handling procedures and ensure accurate transactions and accountability Maintain cleanliness, organization, and proper food safety practices in all retail spaces Coordinate the opening and closing of retail locations according to camp and guest group schedules Model Christ-like attitude and conduct for campers, guests, and fellow staff Follow and uphold all Mt. Gilead safety and security procedures Physical Requirements: This is an active role requiring frequent movement, including walking, standing, lifting (up to 50 lbs), and carrying merchandise or supplies. Candidates must be able to navigate uneven or rugged terrain safely and participate comfortably in a camp environment.
