Responsibilities Lead and supervise retail staff, including hiring, onboarding, training, and ongoing development to build a high-performing team. Oversee daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures, cash handling, POS transactions, and ensuring compliance with company policies. Manage inventory control by conducting stock audits, overseeing stocking procedures, and implementing effective merchandising strategies to maximize sales. Coordinate purchasing activities and vendor relations to ensure optimal product availability and pricing strategies. Implement sales management techniques to meet or exceed sales targets through customer engagement and promotional activities. Supervise cashiering duties, including cash handling accuracy, register maintenance, and reconciliation at shift end. Develop and execute marketing initiatives within the store to attract customers and promote new products or services. Monitor employee performance through regular feedback sessions, conducting interviews for new hires, and facilitating training & development programs. Maintain organized records of payroll, bookkeeping, budgeting, and administrative tasks to support smooth store operations. Foster excellent customer service by addressing customer inquiries promptly and professionally while maintaining phone etiquette. Utilize management skills to oversee shift schedules, manage staffing levels efficiently, and ensure smooth store flow during busy periods. Apply organizational skills to keep the store clean, safe, and compliant with health and safety regulations. Use strong communication skills to collaborate with team members across departments and ensure everyone is aligned on goals. Qualifications Proven supervising or assistant management experience in a retail environment with a focus on team management and sales growth. Strong knowledge of retail math, pricing strategies, inventory management, POS systems, and cash handling procedures. Excellent negotiation skills paired with the ability to recruit top talent through effective interviewing techniques. Bilingual or multilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve diverse customer bases effectively. Demonstrated competence in employee orientation, training & development programs, and leadership roles within retail settings. Experience with merchandising, stock replenishment, marketing initiatives, and promotional planning. Familiarity with grocery or convenience store operations is a plus but not required. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently. Exceptional communication skills for engaging customers and leading a cohesive team. Ability to handle administrative responsibilities such as payroll processing, bookkeeping, budgeting, and record keeping accurately.
