Store & Operations Lead — Stella & Dot Location: Burlingame, CA · On-site Pay: $28–$32 per hour, depending on relevant experience Schedule: Some weekend availability required About Stella & Dot Stella & Dot is a jewelry and accessories brand built around great design, personal style, and connection. We’re looking for a warm, organized, dependable Store & Operations Lead to run our small Burlingame boutique and keep daily operations on track. This is a hands-on role combining customer service, retail staffing, and oversight of our existing e-commerce fulfillment team member. You’ll personally cover store shifts and use quieter periods to handle scheduling, inventory administration, and operational follow-up. If you enjoy styling customers, organizing details, and taking ownership of a small operation, we’d love to meet you. What you’ll do Run the boutique Welcome customers, help them discover and style jewelry, and provide thoughtful service. Process purchases, returns, and exchanges using Shopify POS. Handle opening and closing procedures. Keep displays, merchandise, and the store organized and inviting. Oversee e commerce fulfillment and inventory Supervise our fulfillment team member and monitor that online orders ship accurately and on time. Resolve shipping issues, order discrepancies, returns, and customer-service escalations. Coordinate receiving, restocking, inventory counts, and store inventory transfers. Help with fulfillment when needed during busy periods or staff absences. Hire and support retail associates Recruit, interview, and onboard a part-time associates to cover any shifts you are not covering Create schedules within an approved staffing budget and coordinate coverage. Train associates on products, customer service, Shopify POS, and store procedures. Set clear expectations and provide practical, supportive feedback. Keep operations running smoothly Manage supplies, maintain simple checklists, and follow through on daily operational needs. Coordinate with our remote marketing team on promotions, inventory availability, and fulfillment readiness. Solve routine problems independently and flag larger issues early with recommended solutions. Balance customer-facing responsibilities with administrative work during quieter store periods. What you bring Relevant retail experience, ideally as a keyholder, assistant manager, boutique manager, or similar hands-on leader. A friendly, service-oriented approach and an interest in jewelry and personal styling. Strong organization, attention to detail, and reliable follow-through. Experience training or supervising others; hiring and scheduling experience is a plus. Comfort using Shopify POS or a similar system, email, and basic spreadsheets. Good judgment, clear communication, and the ability to work independently. A willingness to pitch in across a small team. Availability to work on-site in Burlingame, including some weekend shifts. Experience with inventory management or e-commerce fulfillment is a plus. What success looks like Customers feel welcomed and cared for. The boutique is organized and reliably staffed.
