Store Manager | TROOP Location: Upper East Side, New York City Employment Type: Full-Time, In-Person About TROOP TROOP is a new specialty retail destination on Manhattan's Upper East Side, bringing together fashion, accessories, beauty, and gifts for girls ages 6–13. Designed to be more than just a store, TROOP is a fun, engaging shopping space where girls can discover their personal style, explore exciting brands, and enjoy a unique retail experience. With a curated mix of established favorites and emerging brands, TROOP brings a fresh perspective to shopping for the next generation. We're looking for an enthusiastic, experienced, and highly motivated Store Manager to help launch TROOP and lead its day-to-day operations. The Role As Store Manager, you'll be responsible for creating an exceptional shopping experience while overseeing all aspects of store operations. We're looking for someone who combines strong retail management experience with a genuine love of fashion, merchandising, and customer service. As part of a new and growing business, you'll have the opportunity to help shape the store's culture, build a loyal customer community, and contribute to TROOP's long-term success. Key Responsibilities Store Operations & Leadership Oversee daily store operations, ensuring a welcoming, organized, and high-performing retail environment. Recruit, train, schedule, and manage a small team of sales associates. Lead by example, creating a positive, energetic, and customer-focused team culture. Manage opening and closing procedures, POS operations, and daily sales reporting. Maintain inventory accuracy, oversee receiving and stockroom organization, and coordinate replenishment. Sales & Customer Experience Drive sales performance and work toward store revenue goals. Deliver exceptional, personalized customer service to both girls and their parents. Build lasting customer relationships and develop a loyal local following. Create a fun, memorable, and engaging in-store shopping experience. Visual Merchandising & Brand Experience Maintain visually compelling product displays that reflect TROOP's aesthetic. Oversee product presentation, merchandising updates, and seasonal floor changes. Help identify customer preferences, product trends, and selling opportunities. Ensure the store consistently reflects TROOP's brand identity. Events & Community Engagement Help plan and execute in-store events, trunk shows, pop-ups, and special shopping experiences. Build relationships with neighborhood families and the local community. Collaborate on creative initiatives that drive store traffic and customer engagement. What We're Looking For 1+ years of retail management experience, preferably in fashion, accessories, beauty, or specialty retail. Strong leadership skills and experience managing and motivating a team. Excellent interpersonal skills and a natural ability to connect with customers of all ages. A strong eye for fashion, trends, and visual merchandising. Highly organized, detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable multitasking. Experience with Shopify POS and inventory management strongly preferred. Comfortable using technology and digital tools; familiarity with Canva is a plus. A hands-on, entrepreneurial mindset and willingness to jump in wherever needed. Flexibility to work weekends and during special events. Why Join TROOP?
