Retail Store Associate

Job Summary We are looking for a dedicated Retail Store Associate to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be the frontline representative of our store, providing exceptional customer service while managing daily sales transactions and maintaining a well-organized shopping environment. Responsibilities Greet customers warmly, assist with product inquiries, and provide detailed product demonstrations when needed. Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system efficiently to process retail sales transactions, including cash register operations and cash handling. Upsell products by identifying customer needs and recommending additional items to enhance their shopping experience. Stock shelves, organize merchandise, and ensure the store displays are attractive and well-maintained. Manage inventory levels through stock replenishment and assist with inventory counts to support accurate stock management. Maintain excellent phone etiquette when handling customer inquiries or coordinating with suppliers. Support merchandising efforts by setting up promotional displays and ensuring products are correctly priced. Handle cash drawer balancing at the end of shifts with accuracy, applying basic math skills to reconcile sales totals. Provide exceptional customer service by addressing concerns promptly and professionally. Assist in training new team members and supervising junior staff when necessary. Requirements Previous experience in retail sales or grocery store environments is preferred. Familiarity with POS systems, cash register operations, and retail math principles. Strong communication skills in both verbal and written formats; bilingual abilities are a plus. Demonstrated proficiency in cashiering, cash handling, and retail sales transactions. Ability to perform basic math accurately for cash drawer handling and sales calculations. Experience in merchandising, stocking, and product demonstrations. Excellent phone etiquette and customer service skills to foster positive interactions. Supervising experience is advantageous for leadership opportunities within the team. Knowledge of retail store product details, inventory management, and grocery store operations enhances effectiveness.
