Retail Sales Associate - Building Materials & Concrete Products

Job Summary We are seeking a reliable, customer focused Retail Sales Associate to join our team. In this role, you will be the face of our retail showroom and yard assisting homeowners, and commercial contractors with their masonry and hardscape projects. You will help customers select the right concrete blocks, pavers, retaining walls, and setting materials, calculate product quantities, and process orders. The ideal candidate enjoys helping people, possesses basic math skills for project estimations, and doesn't mind a fast-paced environment that bridges the gap between a retail store and a concrete products yard. Key Responsibilities Customer Support : Greet walk-in clients, answer phone inquiries, and guide customers to the right concrete and masonry products for this specific projects. Order Processing : Operate our Point-Of-Sale (POS) system to accurately process cash, credit, and contractor account transactions, issue quotes,, and scheduled deliveries. Inventory & Merchandising : Maintain organized showroom displays, stock shelves with tools and accessories, and assist with regular inventory counts. Yard Coordination : Communicate with yard staff to ensure customer orders are pulled and loaded safely and efficiently. Qualifications & Skills Experience : 1 - 2 years of experience in retail sales, customer service, or a hardware/building materials environment preferred. Math Skills : Strong basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and basic geometry) to calculate product quantities and pricing. Communication : Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills to handle both retails shoppers and commerical contractors. Tech Savvy : Comfortable learning and using POS software and basic computer systems. Physical Requirements : Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, and occasionally lift or move items weighing up to 75 lbs.
