Retail Sales Associate – MyPops (New Store Opening) Job Overview The Retail Sales Associate at MyPops plays an important role in the successful launch of our new store. This position focuses on creating a welcoming shopping experience, assisting customers in finding the right products, supporting sales, and helping maintain an organized and visually appealing retail environment. The successful candidate will contribute to pre-opening preparations, product displays, inventory organization, cashiering, and daily store operations while representing the MyPops brand with a friendly and customer-focused approach. Key Duties and Responsibilities Customer Service and Sales: Welcome customers, understand their needs, provide product information, recommend suitable options, and deliver a positive shopping experience that encourages customer satisfaction and repeat business. New Store Opening Support: Assist with store setup, stocking, product arrangement, display preparation, pricing, signage, and other tasks required to prepare the store for its grand opening. Cashiering and Transactions: Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system, process purchases and payments accurately, handle cash responsibly, and maintain a clean and organized checkout area. Merchandising and Inventory: Replenish shelves, organize merchandise, monitor stock levels, maintain attractive product displays, and support inventory counts and stockroom organization. Store Maintenance: Help maintain a clean, safe, organized, and welcoming sales floor, including shelves, displays, checkout areas, and shared spaces. E-commerce Support: Assist with online orders, order preparation, customer inquiries, and other e-commerce activities as required. Teamwork and Daily Operations: Collaborate with store management and team members to support opening procedures, daily sales targets, operational efficiency, and consistent customer service standards. Your contribution to customer service, accurate transactions, effective merchandising, and teamwork will help create a positive shopping environment and support the store’s successful launch and ongoing growth. Qualifications and Experience Required: Strong communication skills in English and a friendly, customer-oriented attitude. Customer service, retail sales, or cashiering experience, or a willingness to learn. Basic understanding of cash handling and POS systems, with the ability to learn store procedures. Good organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain a neat and orderly retail environment. Ability to work collaboratively in a team and adapt to the changing priorities of a newly opening store. Willingness to assist with store setup, stocking, merchandising, and other retail tasks. Preferred Assets: Previous experience in retail, sales, merchandising, or customer service. Experience working at conventions, trade shows, fan expos, or other related events. Knowledge of pop culture, including anime, manga, gaming, comics, collectibles, and related fandoms. Familiarity with trading card games (TCGs), such as Pokémon, One Piece, Gundam, Magic: The Gathering, Yu-Gi-Oh!, or other collectible card games. Experience with inventory management, POS systems, or e-commerce order fulfillment. Additional language skills to assist a diverse customer base. Flexibility to support pre-opening preparations, grand opening activities, conventions, and ongoing store operations.
