Retail Receiving Associate

Supports store team with stock-to-sales processes including; receiving shipment, opening, and tagging. Adheres to the stock “typical day” to ensure deliveries are processed and placed within 24 hours Identifies, documents, and communicates merchandise damages and handles vendor claim status Maintains an efficient and well-organized stockroom and warehouse ensuring accessibility to employees Assists in the restock process to maintain store stock levels continually Assist in Purchase orders, follow-up, and receiving paperwork Notify designers when special orders arrive and mark them accordingly Supports back-of-house processes to better serve the customer Gains proficiencies in strong assessment and decision-making skills Ensures productivity and a sense of urgency Possesses strong written and verbal communication skills Breaks down shipping materials and dumps them into the appropriate garbage and recycling bins Must be physically capable of lifting furniture and have a valid driver's license to transport furniture to and from the warehouse in a delivery truck. A Receiving Associate manages the backroom, inventory intake, and showroom floor preparation for our furniture and home decor storefront. This role is responsible for unpacking incoming shipments in the store's receiving area, inspecting merchandise for quality, performing some furniture assembly to retail-ready standards, and directly reporting any damaged or defective items to our vendors. Sharp attention to detail is required to ensure all physical items accurately match the store's Purchase Orders (POs), and strong computer skills are essential to officially receive and log the inventory into our POS system. Operating inside the store, this position requires a blend of mechanical aptitude, physical stamina, technical literacy, and clear communication skills.
