Retail Propane delivery driver

Job Summary Join our dynamic team as a Retail Propane Delivery Driver, where you will play a vital role in safely and efficiently delivering propane and related products to our valued customers. Your expertise in commercial truck driving and hazardous materials handling will help us maintain the highest standards of safety and reliability. Duties Safely operate propane delivery trucks, including Bobtails, following all DOT (Department of Transportation) and FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations. Plan and execute delivery routes using GPS navigation systems, ensuring timely and accurate deliveries across over-the-road (OTR) routes. Load, secure, transport, and unload propane cylinders, tanks, and hazardous materials while adhering to hazardous materials regulations. Conduct pre-trip inspections of trucks and trailers to verify safety equipment, vehicle condition, and compliance with DOT standards. Load and unload cargo using forklift or manual handling techniques while maintaining safety protocols for dangerous goods. Maintain detailed logs of deliveries, shipments, and vehicle inspections in accordance with regulatory requirements. Communicate effectively with dispatch teams to coordinate deliveries, report issues, or delays promptly. Requirements Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for hazardous materials (Hazmat) transportation. Proven experience in delivery driving, truck driving, or logistics cargo handling within a retail or industrial setting. Knowledge of truck loading/unloading procedures including freight handling on flatbed or tanker trucks. Familiarity with refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and tractor-trailers used in propane delivery. Ability to operate GPS navigation systems accurately for route planning across diverse locations. Strong understanding of FMCSA regulations, DOT (Department of Transportation) rules, hazardous materials regulations, and safety standards for dangerous goods. Experience with manual transmission trucks preferred; ability to perform manual handling tasks safely. Skilled in route driving with a focus on delivery driver experience that emphasizes safety and efficiency. Physical ability to load/unload freight manually or using forklifts; comfortable working in various weather conditions. Excellent driving record demonstrating safe operation over the years; familiarity with over-the-road (OTR) routes is a plus.
