Retail Assistant Manager

Duties Oversee daily store operations, including sales, inventory control, and customer service to ensure smooth functioning. Lead, motivate, and supervise retail staff, fostering a positive team environment focused on achieving sales targets and delivering outstanding service. Manage staffing schedules, conduct employee orientation, and facilitate ongoing training & development initiatives. Handle purchasing decisions, pricing strategies, and merchandising to maximize sales opportunities and maintain attractive product displays. Utilize POS systems for transactions, cash handling, payroll processing, and bookkeeping with accuracy and integrity. Conduct interviews for hiring new team members, participate in recruiting efforts, and evaluate employee performance regularly. Implement inventory management procedures to monitor stock levels, prevent shrinkage, and coordinate stock replenishment or stocking activities. Ensure compliance with operational policies including cashiering protocols, safety standards, and store procedures. Requirements Proven experience in retail management or as an assistant manager within the retail industry with supervisory responsibilities. Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage teams effectively and communicate managerial expectations clearly. Excellent organizational skills with proficiency in inventory management, POS systems, and retail math calculations. Demonstrated ability in negotiation, customer service excellence, and conflict resolution. Multilingual or bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve diverse customer bases effectively. Experience with payroll processing, bookkeeping, budgeting, and operational management is preferred. Knowledge of retail sales techniques including pricing strategies, merchandising, and promotional planning. Exceptional time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
