Retail Assistant Manager

Overview We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Retail Assistant Manager to join our vibrant retail team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead daily store operations, enhance customer experiences, and drive sales performance. As a key leader on the floor, you will oversee staff management, inventory control, and operational excellence while fostering a positive shopping environment. The ideal candidate is energetic, organized, and possesses strong managerial skills to motivate teams and ensure store success. Responsibilities Assist in managing daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and POS (Point of Sale) system management. Lead and supervise retail sales teams to meet or exceed sales targets through effective training, coaching, and motivation. Oversee inventory management, including stock replenishment, merchandising, pricing strategies, and inventory control to minimize shrinkage. Conduct employee orientation, training & development sessions to ensure team members are knowledgeable about products and customer service standards. Manage scheduling shifts, monitor sales performance metrics, and ensure efficient time management across all store functions. Handle customer inquiries with professionalism using phone etiquette and excellent communication skills to resolve issues promptly. Support recruiting efforts by participating in interviewing candidates and onboarding new employees while maintaining payroll accuracy and bookkeeping records. Implement operational policies related to management, merchandising, stock stocking, and store safety protocols to optimize store performance. Experience Proven managerial experience within the retail industry with a focus on sales team management and operational oversight. Demonstrated supervising experience with a strong background in retail sales management, inventory control, and customer service excellence. Familiarity with POS systems, cash handling procedures, and basic math skills necessary for daily financial transactions. Experience in employee orientation, training & development programs along with recruiting activities such as interviewing candidates. Multilingual or bilingual abilities are highly desirable to better serve diverse customer bases. Strong organizational skills combined with effective communication abilities for managerial communication and leadership roles. Knowledge of retail industry standards including merchandising, purchasing, pricing strategies, and operational management is essential for success in this role.
