Restaurant Manager

Job Description Caprock Cafe is seeking an experienced, organized, and customer-focused Restaurant Manager to oversee daily operations and ensure excellent food quality, outstanding guest service, and efficient team performance. The successful candidate will lead restaurant employees, manage operational activities, monitor business performance, and maintain a welcoming dining environment. This role requires strong leadership, effective communication, and the ability to balance customer satisfaction with operational and financial goals. Key Responsibilities Oversee daily restaurant operations to ensure smooth and efficient service. Lead, supervise, and motivate front-of-house and kitchen team members. Recruit, onboard, train, and develop employees in accordance with company procedures. Establish service expectations and monitor team performance. Ensure guests receive friendly, attentive, and professional service. Handle customer feedback, complaints, and service concerns promptly. Coordinate with kitchen staff to maintain food quality, consistency, and presentation. Manage staff schedules, shift assignments, attendance, and coverage. Monitor sales performance, labor costs, food expenses, and operating budgets. Oversee inventory management, purchasing, stock rotation, and supply replenishment. Implement practices to reduce food waste and control operating costs. Ensure cleanliness, organization, and maintenance of dining areas, kitchen spaces, and equipment. Maintain compliance with food safety, sanitation, workplace safety, and company policies. Oversee point-of-sale procedures, cash handling, and end-of-day reporting as required. Conduct team meetings to communicate goals, service standards, and operational updates. Coordinate restaurant promotions and activities that support customer engagement. Identify opportunities to improve workflow, productivity, and guest satisfaction. Address staffing and operational challenges professionally and efficiently. Maintain effective communication with suppliers and senior management as needed. Prepare operational updates and recommend improvements to support restaurant performance. Qualifications and Skills Previous experience in restaurant or café management is preferred. Demonstrated ability to supervise and motivate a diverse team. Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Excellent customer service and conflict-resolution abilities. Understanding of restaurant operations, food service, and hospitality standards. Knowledge of inventory management, labor planning, and cost control. Familiarity with point-of-sale systems and restaurant reporting procedures. Ability to monitor sales, expenses, and operational performance. Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety requirements. Strong organizational, time-management, and problem-solving skills. Ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and other scheduled shifts as needed.
