Responsibilities
• Scaling and grading logs and trees
• Using handheld data collectors to scale logs
• Building and maintaining relationships with suppliers
• Use of computer programs including email, excel, and word
• Ability to work independently in a safe and effective manner
• Adherence to safety policies
Skills
• This position will be filled by an experienced forester, who is disciplined and responsible enough to work in a remote setting
• Candidates for this position have two years of experience in a forestry related setting with some experience buying logs or timber
• Scaling and grading logs and trees
• Using handheld data collectors to scale logs
• Building and maintaining relationships with suppliers
• Use of computer programs including email, excel, and word
• Ability to work independently in a safe and effective manner
• Adherence to safety policies
• A degree from a two-year technical program or 4-year undergraduate program in a forest products related field or log/timber buying experience
