Remote Freight Dispatcher (Dry Van & Flatbed)
ConfidentialSteady Wake Dispatch is a veteran-owned freight dispatch service in Durango, CO, working with owner-operators in dry van and flatbed. The owner is a Navy veteran with 12 years of experience driving dry van. I'm looking for a reliable backup dispatcher to handle daytime operations while I'm on the road. What you'll do: - Find and book dry van and flatbed loads on load boards - Negotiate rates with brokers - Check every broker against FMCSA before booking. No exceptions; this is the foundation of how we operate - Keep carriers updated and handle problems as they come up - Log loads in our shared online load board and send a short end-of-day handoff note Hours: Weekdays, 6:00 AM to 4:00 PM Mountain Time. Fully remote. Pay: This is a commission-based independent contractor role, not hourly. You earn 50% of the dispatch fee on every load you book. Our dispatch fee is 7% of the load rate, so on a $2,500 load you earn about $87.50. Paid biweekly. Earnings depend on how many loads you book. You're a good fit if you have: - Dispatch experience (dry van and/or flatbed preferred) - Comfort with DAT, Truckstop, or similar load boards - Good negotiating skills and steady communication - Driving background, logistics experience, or military service (a plus, not required) - Reliability. Our carriers count on us to pick up the phone. Every new dispatcher starts with a paid trial week. Questions? Email steadywakedispatch@gmail.com or call/text (970) 903-9226.
