Remarketing/Parts Coordinator
Puckett Machinery CompanyDescription The Remarketing/Parts Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the inspection, evaluation, reconditioning, and preparation of equipment for resale. This position works closely with the service department, parts team, third-party vendors, detailers, and other internal departments to ensure equipment is prepared efficiently, consistently, and within established quality and budget expectations. While the position will originate in the Richland location, the position will be based in the Gluckstadt area. Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities: Equipment Inspection & Evaluation Inspect and evaluate used equipment to determine overall condition and resale readiness. Identify mechanical, cosmetic, and operational repairs required prior to remarketing. Document equipment condition, required repairs, parts needs, and estimated costs. Help determine the most appropriate reconditioning strategy based on equipment condition, marketability, and budget. Reconditioning Planning & Coordination Develop reconditioning plans and establish estimated repair budgets for equipment. Coordinate repair activities between the shop, parts department, third-party vendors, detailers, and other service providers. Schedule and monitor reconditioning work to ensure equipment moves efficiently through the preparation process. Track repair progress and communicate status, delays, and additional repair requirements to appropriate personnel. Manage reconditioning time and costs against established budgets. Identify opportunities to reduce unnecessary repair costs while maintaining quality and resale standards. Quality Control & Remarketing Preparation Ensure consistency in the quality and appearance of equipment prepared for resale. Perform final inspections to verify repairs and preparation have been completed according to established standards. Coordinate detailing, cleaning, decals, paint, and other cosmetic preparation as needed. Help ensure equipment is properly prepared and presented for remarketing. Work Orders & Warranty Assist with the creation, processing, and completion of work orders related to reconditioning activities. Assist with warranty-related repairs, documentation, and claim requirements when applicable. Review completed work orders for accuracy and ensure labor, parts, and outside services are properly documented. Parts Inventory & Procurement Inventory, identify, and track parts required for equipment reconditioning. Coordinate parts availability and procurement to minimize equipment downtime. Maintain accurate records of parts used on reconditioning projects. Assist with parts inventory control, including receiving, organizing, and reconciling parts. Identify opportunities to utilize existing inventory and reduce unnecessary parts purchases. Communicate with vendors and suppliers regarding parts availability, pricing, and delivery. Administrative & Communication Maintain accurate records of equipment inspections, repair estimates, parts usage, vendor expenses, and reconditioning costs. Provide regular updates on equipment status, estimated completion dates, and budget performance. Work collaboratively with Sales, Service, Parts, and Remarketing teams to support timely equipment disposition. Assist with developing and maintaining standard processes for equipment preparation and reconditioning. Perform other duties as assigned to support remarketing and equipment operations. Qualifications High school diploma or GED equivalent required . Minimum 1 year of relative experience in a parts environment and/or mechanic experience. Valid driver’s license and ability to operate equipment safely, as required. Knowledge of and experience with P.O. systems, SIS, and/or dealer management information systems (DBS). Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook). Basic understanding of parts, labor, repair costs, and service operations.
