Description

Coordinate Navy fleet support field operations across 10+ hub locations, providing Chemical Biological Defense and Damage Control installation, maintenance, and readiness support directly to U.S. Navy ships and units. This is a field operations leadership role that requires constant travel among support nodes, Navy ships, and fleet commands. You will lead distributed teams providing installation, maintenance, and repair support directly to U.S. Navy ships and units throughout deployment and maintenance cycles. As the primary interface with Type Commanders, Ship Class Desks, and Ships Damage Control staff, you'll ensure mission-ready equipment reaches fleet units operating both afloat and ashore.


NOTE: This is a contingent position dependent upon contract award.


RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Lead and coordinate field operations teams across 10+ support hub locations, providing installation, maintenance, and repair support to U.S. Navy ships and units at San Diego, Little Creek, Coronado, Port Hueneme, Pearl Harbor, Yokosuka (Japan), Bahrain, Rota (Spain), and other CONUS/OCONUS sites.
  • Direct Readiness Improvement Program (RIP) field operations, including fit testing and sizing of personnel for Chemical/Biological Defense protective equipment using M46 Joint Service Mask Leakage Tester aboard ships and at shore facilities.
  • Oversee field maintenance (planned/preventive), organizational-level repairs, and intermediate-level repairs of Chemical Biological Defense, Damage Control, and Firefighting equipment deployed to ships and units worldwide.
  • Coordinate Readiness Assist Visits (RAV) to perform comprehensive materiel readiness evaluations within 120 days of scheduled deployments for U.S. Navy and ships, assessing detection systems, collective protection, personal protective equipment, decontamination, and bio-consumables aboard ships.
  • Manage onload/offload operations for Field Protective Masks and Individual Protective Equipment from ships and units; coordinate removal, marking, refurbishment, and redistribution of protective equipment across the fleet.
  • Interface with Type Commanders (TYCOM), Ship Class Desks, and Ships Damage Control staff to develop and maintain long-range target schedules for Chemical Biological Defense and Damage Control support aligned with afloat and ashore deployment and maintenance cycles.
  • Oversee warehousing, kitting, de-kitting, staging, and fleet delivery operations at support hubs; coordinate regional Readiness Improvement Program activities with ashore and afloat forces.
  • Travel regularly to support hubs and fleet units to assess operations, provide technical guidance, coordinate with Navy stakeholders, and ensure consistent quality across all locations.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience involving logistics, inspections, and preventative maintenance with Chemical Biological Defense (CBD), Damage Control (DC), Anti-Terrorism Force Protection (ATA), or similar Navy shipboard systems.
  • Demonstrated leadership, supervision, and/or task direction of teams providing installation or maintenance and repair support to U.S. Navy ships.
  • Knowledge of Navy Afloat and Ashore deployment and/or maintenance cycles, shipboard systems maintenance, and fleet readiness operations.
  • Experience interfacing with Type Commanders (TYCOM), Ship Class Desks, and Ships Damage Control staff during fleet operations or maintenance periods.
  • Ability and willingness to travel 50-75% of the time to support hub locations across CONUS and OCONUS, including ship visits and coordination with fleet commands.
  • SECRET security clearance (active preferred) or eligibility to obtain.
  • U.S. citizenship required.

PAY RANGE AND COMPENSATION PACKAGE

  • Salary: $115,000 - $144,000 annually (commensurate with experience and clearance level).
