Duties Safely operate various commercial trucks including dry vans, flatbeds, and dry van trailers following FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards. Plan and navigate routes using GPS navigation systems to ensure timely deliveries across designated regions or local areas. Load, secure, transport, and unload freight with precision, adhering to safety protocols for hazardous materials and dangerous goods when applicable. Manage delivery schedules for regional dry van or local flatbed routes while maintaining compliance with standard logistics cargo handling procedures. Conduct pre-trip inspections and routine maintenance checks on trucks to ensure optimal performance and safety. Load & unload cargo efficiently while following truck loading and unloading best practices for freight safety and security. Communicate effectively with dispatch teams to coordinate deliveries, report issues, and update delivery statuses promptly. Qualifications Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with endorsements relevant to the type of freight transported. Proven experience in truck driving, including delivery driving with flatbeds, dry van trailers, or tractor-trailers. Familiarity with automatic transmission trucks and manual handling techniques for logistics cargo handling. Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT standards, and safety protocols Experience operating GPS navigation systems for route planning on over-the-road (OTR) or local flatbed routes. Strong understanding of truck loading/unloading procedures and freight security practices. Ability to meet physical demands including manual handling of freight and long hours of driving.
