What does your role bring to the table?
A
significant role in the future and growth of Snooze! This role is responsible
for operational leadership across the Mountain West and West Coast division,
supporting Snooze restaurants across multiple regional markets. The Snooze
Senior Director of Operations ensures operational excellence through
the execution of the Snooze Compass: Guests, Snoozers, Community,
Sustainability, Passion, Individuality, Craveable and Best-Of-The-Best. The Regional Director of Operation will
protect and grow the amazing Snooze culture by thoughtfully utilizing all Restaurant
Support Center (RSC) resources including Community, Sustainability, People and
Culture, TLC, Technology, Finance, Culinary and Development to support Snooze
restaurants within their designated region.
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Senior Director of
Operations is expected to communicate at the highest level with the RSC,
Regional Managers, and management teams to ensure that communication flows to
all team members clearly and in a timely manner. This role serves as the senior operational
leader for the division, with direct oversight and accountability for 5-8 Regional
Managers, who in turn lead restaurant operations within their assigned markets
(30-50 restaurants). The Regional Director of Operations embodies Snooze
leadership while delivering strong financial performance, operational
excellence, and radical hospitality within all restaurants in their dedicated
region. This role holds vital our Snooze beliefs in people development, food,
service, ambiance and of course, fun!
The Position
Specifics
Taking on the role of Senior Director of
Operations isn’t just about bacon and pancakes. The responsibilities of this
position include:
Leadership, Accountability, and Daily Activities
Food & Beverage Leadership
- Confirm that all policies, procedures, and systems are in place
to maintain Snooze’s highest recipe and presentation standards for food and
beverage (i.e., purchasing, receiving, storage and preparation)
- Validate all menu optimizations are up to date during each
restaurant visit
- Validate between 6-8 menu items during each restaurant visit
with the RMs in order to teach the philosophies of quality food and beverage
- Be the inspirational “food voice” for the teams to follow on
each visit speaking to the quality behind everything we do and provide feedback
and perspective on each visit
Restaurant Space and Ambiance Leadership
- Ensure that repairs and maintenance are managed and that the
preventative maintenance calendar is up to date in each restaurant
- Collaborate with RMs and Facilities Manager to confirm that all
equipment issues in the restaurant are being acted on and follow-up is handled
timely and properly
- Verify that restaurants maintain Snooze cleanliness standards
via daily cleaning. Validate paid cleaning crews are performing at or above
standard

Conduct quarterly walk-throughs alongside RM in all restaurants to calibrate standards,
coach leadership, and ensure divisional alignment
- Personally take pride in all aspects of cleanliness and care for
the facility and is a role model for all Regional Managers
Talent and Team Leadership
Community and Sustainability Leadership
- Ensures the presence of sustainability practices in the
restaurants as defined by the company
- Monitors waste streams and building practices
- Observe RMs practices to ensure accountability to sustainability
as necessary
- Supports the Change Maker, Compass Champions, and Local
Restaurant Marketing programs in each restaurant and monitors their
effectiveness
- Coaches RMs and managers on waste area cleanliness and on being
a great neighbor
- Coordinates with RMs/GMs regarding support of restaurant events
and catering commitments; ensures that the community event calendar is updated
- Encourages and participates in community engagement activities
in all restaurant regions and actively help maintain community budgets
Fiscal Management Leadership
- Ensures restaurant sales growth year over year in accordance
with the operating plan
- Provides continuous financial oversight to RM and
direction for all P&L line items with specific emphasis on the
cost of sales, hourly labor costs, and controllable operating expenses
- Monthly review of plan goals with RMs to identify and
implement action steps to address plan variances
- Schedule individual one-on-one meetings with each Regional
Manager to discuss financial performance in comparison to the restaurant's
operating plans on a regular cadence
- Ensure the success of New Restaurant Openings financial 90-day
ramp-up
- Participate in monthly financial calls with leadership to
provide insights around business opportunities within the division

Prerequisites! (Education, Credentials, and Experience)
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
- Bachelor’s degree in business, hospitality or
other relevant discipline preferred
- 10+ years of related experience working in
restaurant operations management

5+ years of leadership experience, including
direct supervision of multi-unit leaders such as
Regional Managers or equivalent senior operations roles Proven track record of
mentorship, coaching, and growing leaders

- Must have the stamina to work 45 to 55 hours
per week
- The travel required for this position is
approximately 50% and you must be able to travel for up to 5 days at one time
(air, car, bus. Train, and weekend travel all required)

Home base is determined by the geographical
market
within the Mountain West
and West Coast division
Denver area base salary range: $140,000-$160,000
per year
The base salary range above represents the low
and high end of the Snooze salary range for this position. Actual salaries will
vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but
not limited to experience, education, training, location, merit system,
quantity or quality of production, responsibilities, and regular and/or
necessary travel. The range listed is just one component of Snooze’s total
compensation package for employees.
