The CDL A Driver is responsible for executing regional transportation operations within a defined geographic area, ensuring the safe, timely, and accurate delivery of freight while providing exceptional customer service. Essential Duties And Responsibilities Drives semi-tractor/trailers for up to 11 hours after 10 hours off-duty on runs of up to one week or more. Backs trailers to customer dock. Maintains compliance with Federal and State safety regulations and safe and professional driving behavior. Communicates with customer representatives in pleasant, respectful, and efficient manner. Communicating and coordinating with dispatchers. Complies with all DOT requirements including drug and alcohol testing (subject to random and reasonable-suspicion drug and alcohol testing). Securing cargo and properly arranging and balancing it within the vehicle. Ensure that any mechanical issues with the vehicle are corrected before driving. Swings and secures trailer doors. Performs other duties as required. Qualifications & Experience Valid CDL A License required Minimum 2 years of CDL A driving experience within the last 4 years (3+ years preferred) Must meet DOT qualification requirements (FMCSR 391.41) No positive drug or alcohol test results in the past five (5) yrs. No accident involving bodily injury within the last three (3) yrs. Experience in local P&D operations, multi-stop routing, and urban driving environments preferred Strong understanding of load securement and freight handling Ability to navigate efficiently using GPS and route planning tools Demonstrated customer service skills and professionalism in customer-facing environments Experience handling high-value or sensitive freight preferred Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills TWIC card (or ability to obtain within 90 days, if required) Physical Demands While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to operate a commercial vehicle and perform physical freight handling activities, with or without reasonable accommodation.
