Regional CDL-A Driver – $85K–$110K

Scharf Transport is a small, family-owned carrier based in Oakfield, Wisconsin, hauling steady, year-round liquid dairy freight in food-grade tankers. We’re looking for experienced CDL-A drivers who want strong earning potential, assigned equipment, regular home time, and a company that trusts them to do their job without being micromanaged. PAY & EARNING POTENTIAL Starting pay: 65 CPM Mileage is paid on actual odometer miles — loaded and empty. Additional compensation includes: $25 per stop $25/hour detention pay after 2 hours Breakdown pay $250 Holiday Incentive Pay for working one of our 7 recognized holidays Paid orientation and training Biweekly direct deposit Most full-time drivers run approximately 2,200–3,000 miles per week , depending on schedule, freight, and how much they choose to work. At approximately 2,500 miles per week, a driver can expect to earn around $87,000–$90,000 per year, including typical stop pay, detention, and other additional compensation. Drivers who consistently run closer to 3,000 miles per week can earn $100,000+ per year. Several of our full-time drivers are currently on pace to earn well over $100,000 in 2026 based on actual payroll. Actual earnings depend on schedule, availability, freight, and miles run. HOME TIME & SCHEDULING This is a regional position . Most drivers are out 3–5 nights at a time and are home for their 34-hour reset . We operate 7 days a week, so weekend work is required . We have flexibility in how schedules are structured and can work out schedules that fit both the driver and our freight. THE FREIGHT We haul liquid dairy in food-grade tankers . 100% no-touch freight No pumps No PTO operation No in-transit heat Customers handle the majority of hose work Tanker experience is not required. If you're an experienced CDL-A driver with a tanker endorsement, we'll train you. EQUIPMENT Assigned Peterbilt 579 Automatic transmission Refrigerator and inverter Bunk heater Idling permitted as needed for climate control Outward-facing cameras only — no driver-facing cameras No slip seating Depending on where you live and our freight patterns, you may be able to take your assigned truck and trailer home. Drivers taking equipment home must have legal parking for the tractor and trailer and access to electricity for the block heater. REQUIREMENTS Valid Class A CDL Tanker endorsement 2 years of CDL-A experience preferred; 1 year considered Tanker experience is not required Acceptable MVR and ability to meet company insurance requirements Must meet DOT drug and alcohol testing requirements We review MVRs early in the hiring process so neither of us wastes time moving forward if our insurance requirements can't be met.
