Refrigerated Box Truck Driver / Forklift Operator (No CDL Required)

Company: Castelo Cold Storage Location: Pharr, TX Job Type: Full-Time Pay: $14.00/Hour About the Role Castelo Cold Storage is looking for a reliable Truck Driver / Forklift Operator to join our team. We operate two small refrigerated trucks that transport pallets of produce between warehouse locations as needed. This is a combined driving and warehouse position. Employees should expect to spend part of their workday driving and part of their workday performing forklift and warehouse duties. When there are no scheduled trips, you'll work in the warehouse operating a forklift to load and unload product. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys variety and doesn't want to spend the entire workday behind the wheel. Responsibilities Truck Driving ● Safely operate a small refrigerated, non-CDL truck to transport pallets of produce between warehouse locations. ● Perform required pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections. ● Maintain accurate delivery and transportation records. ● Communicate with dispatch and management regarding deliveries. ● Follow all applicable DOT and company safety regulations. ● Complete daily log of trips. ● Maintain a clean and organized vehicle. Forklift & Warehouse ● Safely operate a forklift to load and unload pallets when not driving. ● Move and stage pallets and produce throughout the warehouse. ● Assist with loading and unloading refrigerated trucks. ● Perform general warehouse duties as needed. ● Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. ● Follow all forklift and warehouse safety procedures. Requirements ● Must be at least 18 years of age. ● Valid Texas driver's license. ● CDL is not required for this position. ● Satisfactory driving record and ability to meet company vehicle-insurance requirements. ● Prior forklift experience required. ● Forklift certification is a plus, or willingness to complete required certification/training. ● Must pass required DOT physical and drug testing. ● Ability to lift and move product as needed in a cold-storage environment. ● Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently. ● Comfortable working in refrigerated/cold environments. ● Ability to follow safety procedures and company policies. Drug & Alcohol Policy Employees operating company vehicles are subject to applicable company and federal drug and alcohol policies and testing requirements. Preferred Qualifications ● Previous experience driving box trucks or similar non-CDL vehicles. ● Experience operating forklifts. ● Experience in a warehouse, cold-storage, produce, or logistics environment. ● Previous refrigerated transportation experience. Schedule Full-Time | Monday–Saturday Schedule may vary based on delivery and warehouse needs. Flexibility is required, including potential early morning, evening, and weekend work. Physical & Work Environment ● Work is performed in both refrigerated/cold-storage areas and outside the warehouse. ● Employees may spend part of the workday driving and part of the workday operating a forklift and performing warehouse duties. ● Position requires standing, walking, entering and exiting vehicles, and lifting/moving product as needed. ● Employees must be able to safely perform the essential physical duties of the position.
