Reefer Mechanic

Reefer technician, Lake City, FL Southern Specialized Truck & Trailer is adding transport refrigeration service at our Lake City shop and we need a tech who already works on trailer reefer units. Diesel, trailer, and fleet work is already here. This job is the reefer side. Shop: 1812 NW Main Blvd, Lake City, FL 32055, I-75 exit 427. What you'll do - Diagnose and repair trailer reefer units, Thermo King, Carrier, or both - Recover, evacuate, and charge systems, including R-452A and R-404A - Find leaks, replace compressors, motors, fans, belts, and electrical parts - Run the unit, confirm box temperature, and write up what you found - Keep common parts on hand and tell us what to stock - Work in the shop, and some mobile calls as the work comes in What you need - Hands-on experience on trailer reefer units, not just truck cab A/C - EPA Section 608 Type II or Universal. A 609 card alone is not enough - Your own basic hand tools. We will add the recovery and reefer-specific equipment - A regular driver's license and a clean enough record to drive a service truck - Tell us the brands you've worked on and whether you have factory Thermo King or Carrier training Helpful, not required - Both Thermo King and Carrier - Factory software or dealer training - Diesel or trailer repair alongside reefer work Pay depends on experience and certifications.
