As part of the Colas Canada family, you'll play a critical role in supporting road construction and maintenance projects that connect communities and keep Alberta moving. This unique Field & Shop position offers the best of both worlds: hands-on troubleshooting and repairs in the field during construction season, and shop-based maintenance and overhauls during the winter months. Tools and Support to Get the Job Done For field assignments, we provide everything you need to focus on the job and keep equipment moving: Service truck Fuel Required tooling and equipment Communication device What You'll Do You'll be responsible for maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing a wide range of on-road and off-road equipment while supporting our road construction and maintenance operations. Key Responsibilities Diagnose, troubleshoot, inspect, and repair heavy equipment and vehicles Perform mechanical repairs, overhauls, and component replacements in both shop and field environments Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems using schematics and diagnostic equipment Complete preventative and scheduled maintenance activities Conduct operational testing to verify repairs and equipment performance Install new equipment, attachments, and components as required Maintain accurate service records, repair documentation, and inspection reports Stay current with emerging equipment technology, repair methods, and industry best practices Collaborate with operations teams to minimize downtime and improve equipment availability Participate in our Goal Zero safety culture and 6S program by following all safety procedures and proactively identifying hazards What You Bring Required Qualifications Red Seal Journeyperson Certificate in a Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanic trade Strong mechanical aptitude with experience diagnosing hydraulic and electrical systems Proven experience repairing and maintaining heavy equipment Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence with a satisfactory driving record Strong communication and problem-solving skills Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship Strong dedication to workplace health and safety Assets That Will Set You Apart While not required, preference may be given to candidates with: Experience working on both on-road and off-road fleets Commercial Vehicle Inspection Program (CVIP) certification Class 3 Driver's Licence with Air Brake Endorsement Previous field service experience supporting construction operations Work …
