Receiving/Yard Worker

Work Outside. Stay Active. Build Something that Matters. At T.J. Moore, our Receiving/Yard Workers play a vital role in our daily business operations. Customer Service Greets customers cheerfully. Responds promptly to customers’ needs, including requests for service and assistance. Listens carefully to customers and gets clarification; responds well to questions. Helps in yard loading materials for customers. Safety Performs daily safety checks according to the Safety Manual. Follows all safety rules and directive at all times. Uses personal protective equipment as described in the Safety Manual. Receiving Unloads merchandise from wholesale delivery trucks. Inspects merchandise for damage. Counts materials and records totals on inventory sheets. Stores materials in appropriate areas. Stocking Places new merchandise on shelves, displaying merchandise to its best advantage. Restocks returned items. Takes inventory of stock. Keeps stockroom and other storage areas clean. Straightens materials to maintain safe and orderly conditions in yard. Covers exposed materials, when required, to prevent weather damage. Keeps yard area clean by sweeping and picking up trash. Cleans and maintains equipment. Working Conditions: Must be physically and mentally able to successfully perform the essential elements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit and climb or balance. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is sometimes exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
