Job Summary The Receiving Superviso r champions The FruitGuys' 5R culture and ensures customer commitments are met through excellence in quality, safety, compliance, and operational execution. This role oversees receiving operations, leads the distribution team, drives vendor and employee performance, optimizes resources, and supports continuous improvement while delivering exceptional service to internal and external stakeholders. Key Responsibilities: Receiving Operations & Quality Supervise inbound freight in compliance with SOPs, food safety requirements, GMPs, and organic standards. Serve as the facility's fruit quality expert, ensuring all products meet company and customer expectations. Manage the ripening program and monitor product readiness. Evaluate, document, and track product quality using company systems and equipment. Conduct quality inspections, taste testing, and seasonal quality assessments. Oversee inventory, supply management, cooler organization, and FIFO rotation. Maintain vendor relationships and ensure effective communication regarding quality standards. Manage donation processes, receiving records, and data entry. Food Safety & Compliance: Train and coach employees on food safety, GMPs, and organic requirements. Conduct audits, maintain records, and support facility audit readiness. Verify supplier, transportation, temperature, sanitation, and compliance standards. Ensure equipment, facilities, and contracted services meet food safety requirements. Execute sanitation programs and maintain department cleanliness. Support maintenance activities while preserving food safety compliance. Leadership & Team Development Provide coaching, feedback, and development opportunities for team members. Partner with the Operations Manager on hiring, staffing, scheduling, and performance management. Conduct regular one-on-one meetings and monitor team performance metrics. Review payroll, approve time-off requests, and submit HR documentation. Ensure adherence to all company policies, procedures, and training requirements. Produce Education & Continuous Learning Expand and share fresh produce knowledge to improve quality and customer satisfaction. Educate employees on produce varieties, seasonality, handling practices, and quality standards. Performance Expectations: Support the region's 99.5% delivery success goal through accurate receiving and quality verification. Ensure proper ripening, inventory rotation, and product quality management. Responsibilities of All Employees Demonstrate respect, accountability, responsiveness, teamwork, and a positive attitude. Qualifications: Experience : 3-5 years of leadership experience in high-volume receiving required; fresh produce or perishable goods experience preferred.
