Purpose of the Job: The Receiving Supervisor is responsible for the timely receiving of inventory, both stock and for tied orders, including cross docks, both for branch-to-branch delivery and vendor pickups for branch orders. In addition, the inbound supervisor is responsible for the receiving and processing of customer returns and works in collaboration with the outbound teams in the pipe yard for processing inbound deliveries. The Supervisor is responsible for the safety, performance and completion of all relevant tasks within the warehouse at 300 Galcat Drive. This includes all operational areas within the warehouse space and pipe yard. Primary Duties and Responsibilities: Ensure all duties and responsibilities are completed as per Next’s Standard Operating Procedures. Team Leadership: Lead, motivate and support the warehouse team to maintain high morale and develop high potential team members; Conduct daily team meetings to communicate goals/ daily priorities, expectations, and updates; Maintain a presence in the warehouse and promote company policies and procedures, and model company values; address performance issues promptly and implement corrective actions Operations Management: Oversee all warehouse activities including hiring and scheduling of staff, timesheet approvals, filing incident reports etc.; Ensure that all tasks are completed accurately and on time; Monitor and evaluate team performance to ensure the warehouse team achieves productivity targets, providing feedback, reviews, coaching and development as needed Safety and Compliance: Enforce safety protocols and ensure a clean, organized, and safe work environment; Conduct regular safety audits and ensure required training and onboarding occurs and is tracked for the team Communication: Maintain clear and effective communication with the warehouse team, management and other departments to ensure smooth operations; Provide regular updates and reports to the Distribution Centre Manager Problem Solving: Resolve operational and customer related issues and challenges efficiently; Implement process improvements to enhance productivity and efficiency Reporting: Record all daily activities and reporting on the relevant KPI’s.
