DevgiriDEVGIRI EXPORTS RECEIVING SUPERVISOR - 1st Shift (6AM-3PM) Department: Receiving Department / Dock Reports To: Director of Operations / Receiving Manager Job Overview Devgiri Exports is seeking an experienced and hands-on Receiving Supervisor to lead inbound warehouse / dock operations. This position is responsible for ensuring all incoming containers and shipments are unloaded safely and efficiently, received accurately, properly labeled, scanned into the warehouse management system, and staged or transferred to the correct location. The Receiving Supervisor will provide direct leadership to receiving associates, forklift/reach-truck operators, and other assigned team members. The ideal candidate is a strong floor leader who can balance productivity, inventory accuracy, safety, employee accountability, and daily operational priorities. Key Responsibilities Lead and supervise all 1st -shift inbound and receiving operations. · The inbound functions involve managing reach truck including put-away and location transfer functions. Coordinate the unloading of containers, trailers, and inbound shipments according to daily priorities. Assign employees to containers, receiving, pallet movement, staging, scanning, labeling, and put-away activities. Ensure inbound products are received, counted, scanned, labeled, and entered accurately into the WMS/inventory system. Verify pallet quantities, product information, labels before product is released from receiving. Monitor inbound productivity throughout the shift and make adjustments to staffing and assignments as needed. Hold employees accountable for established container unloading and receiving productivity standards. Ensure completed pallets are staged correctly and moved from the receiving dock in a timely manner. Coordinate with inventory, reach-truck, shipping, Walmart, and other warehouse teams to maintain product flow. Identify and resolve discrepancies involving shortages, overages, damaged products, incorrect labels, or inventory counts. Conduct regular floor walks and maintain an active supervisory presence throughout the shift. Enforce company policies regarding attendance, breaks, productivity, safety, equipment use, and workplace conduct. Coach employees on performance concerns and document corrective actions when required. Conduct pre-shift meetings to communicate workload, safety expectations, staffing assignments, and daily goals. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe receiving dock and warehouse work area. Provide an accurate end-of-shift handoff/report detailing completed work, outstanding containers, inventory issues, staffing concerns, and priorities for the next shift. Leadership Expectations The Receiving Supervisor is expected to be a floor-focused leader, not simply manage operations from an office. The supervisor should know what each team member is working on, understand the status of every active container or inbound load, and address productivity or accuracy issues during the shift rather than waiting until the end of the day. The supervisor must set clear expectations, coach employees professionally, recognize strong performance, and consistently hold the team accountable for meeting Devgiri Exports' operational standards. Qualifications 5 years of warehouse, distribution, receiving, or inbound experience preferred. Previous supervisory or team-lead experience strongly preferred. Experience managing receiving docks, container unloading, inventory scanning, pallet labeling, and put-away operations. Familiarity with WMS or inventory management systems. Strong understanding of warehouse productivity and inventory accuracy. Ability to lead and hold employees accountable in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to analyze workload and adjust staffing based on operational needs. Forklift/reach-truck knowledge or experience preferred.
