Receiving Specialist

Job Summary We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Receiving Specialist to join our warehouse and distribution team. This position is responsible for receiving, inspecting, verifying, and documenting all incoming shipments while ensuring inventory accuracy and timely product flow throughout the warehouse. The ideal candidate will have experience in a fast-paced distribution environment and a strong commitment to accuracy, organization, and teamwork. Duties & Responsibilities Receive, unload, and inspect incoming shipments. Verify products against purchase orders, packing slips, and receiving documents. Identify and report damaged goods, shortages, overages, and other discrepancies. Accurately enter receiving information into inventory management systems. Label, organize, and move products to designated warehouse locations. Coordinate with purchasing and inventory departments to resolve receiving issues. Maintain accurate inventory records. Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment safely. Assist with cycle counts, inventory audits, and stock replenishment. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe receiving area. Support other warehouse operations as needed. Qualifications Minimum 3 years of receiving, warehouse, or distribution experience. Experience handling multiple product lines in a distribution environment. Knowledge of receiving procedures, inventory control, and warehouse operations. Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), ERP systems, and RF scanners. Ability to read and interpret purchase orders, packing slips, and shipping documents. Strong attention to detail and data entry accuracy. Basic math skills for inventory counting and reconciliation. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills. Forklift certification preferred. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout the workday. Experience in a high-volume distribution or foodservice environment is a plus.
