Receiving Specialist Keep incoming materials accurate, organized, and moving to the right place The Receiving Specialist handles inbound materials and inventory transactions, both physically and in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central (BC). Working with the Warehouse and Shipping Supervisor, you’ll serve as a primary point of contact for receiving and printing purchase orders, inbound containers, and intercompany transfers. You’ll also support production receiving, transfers to the Distribution Center (DC), and DC Hub transfers to the DCC. Your work helps maintain inventory accuracy, complete documentation, and timely communication across Purchasing, Production, Warehouse, Quality, Planning, and Logistics. What you’ll do Receive and process purchase orders, inbound containers, and domestic and international shipments in Business Central. Receive, ship, and process intercompany and warehouse transfer orders with accurate, complete transactions. Support DCC Production receiving and coordinate transfers from Production to the Warehouse. Verify invoices and packing slips against purchase orders, ensuring descriptions and quantities match. Review packing slips, bills of lading, purchase orders, certificates of conformance, and other shipping documents. Inspect received materials for quantity, condition, lot numbers, and product identification; resolve discrepancies before completing receipt. Sign, date, scan, and organize completed purchasing lists and other receiving records. Confirm where received inventory needs to be moved within the facility and communicate with other departments about purchase orders, errors, and received certificates. Maintain accurate inventory transactions and receiving records in Business Central. Print purchase orders, receiving labels, inspection sheets, geometric reports, transfer documents, and required production paperwork. Coordinate with Purchasing, Warehouse, Production, Quality, Planning, and Transportation to resolve receiving issues. Promptly communicate shortages, damaged freight, incorrect shipments, and documentation discrepancies. Maintain FIFO and lot traceability throughout the receiving process. Keep electronic and paper receiving records organized according to company procedures. Support continuous improvement efforts to improve inventory accuracy and receiving efficiency. What you’ll bring High school diploma or equivalent. Data entry and computer skills; experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central or a similar ERP system preferred. Receiving, warehouse, inventory control, or logistics experience preferred. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to interpret purchase orders, packing slips, bills of lading, and shipping documentation. Strong problem-solving skills and verbal and written communication. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand or walk for extended periods. Work environment This is a fast-paced manufacturing role that requires standing, walking, and lifting for extended periods.
