Receiving/Shipping Material Handler

Job Overview The Receiving & Shipping Material Handler supports manufacturing operations by ensuring materials are received, stored, transferred, and shipped accurately, safely, and in compliance with quality requirements. This role is highly hands-on and requires strong technology skills, including daily use of NetSuite and barcode scanning systems. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment, adapts quickly to changing priorities, and understands the importance of documentation, traceability, and cleanliness in a food ingredients facility. Responsibilities and Duties Safety & Housekeeping Safely load and unload materials using approved equipment and proper lifting techniques Follow all safety, sanitation, and transportation procedures, including DOT requirements where applicable Proactively identify opportunities to improve safety, cleanliness, and material flow Receiving & Shipping Receive incoming raw materials, packaging, and finished goods in accordance with food safety and quality procedures Verify quantities, lot numbers, expiration dates, and material condition at receipt Accurately process receipts and shipments in NetSuite in real time Prepare outbound shipments, including picking, packing, labeling, and staging per customer and regulatory requirements Inventory Control & Traceability Maintain accurate lot-level traceability and inventory records within NetSuite Perform material transfers between storage locations and facilities, including use of a company box truck (no chauffeur’s license required) Support cycle counts, reconciliations, and physical inventories Ensure materials are stored in designated locations with clear labeling and segregation Technology & Systems Use Use computers, tablets, barcode scanners, and mobile devices to execute warehouse transactions Navigate NetSuite for receiving, shipping, inventory adjustments, and transfers Maintain accurate, timely data entry to support food safety, traceability, and audit readiness Overall Operations Support As needed, provide support to production processes including blending, packaging and other duties as assigned. Food Safety, Quality & Compliance Follow GMPs, food safety plans, allergen controls, and sanitation procedures Maintain clean, organized receiving and shipping areas to meet food-grade housekeeping standards Support internal and external audits by ensuring accurate records and proper material handling Immediately report non-conformances, damaged materials, or food safety risks Desired Qualifications 3–5 years of experience in shipping, receiving, and warehouse roles. Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials up to 50 lbs. Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods Experience working in a food manufacturing or other regulated environment preferred Strong technology skills, including daily use of ERP systems (NetSuite preferred), tablets, and barcode scanners Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; ability to operate a box truck High level of flexibility and ability to manage shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment Self-starter with strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy Understanding of GMPs, traceability, and food safety principles Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively across departments Forklift certification. Hands-on, proactive problem solver who works independently with minimal supervision. Strong communication and coordination skills.
