JOB TITLE: Receiving/Processing Associate EMPLOYER: Sherwood Lumber Corporation DEPARTMENT: Operations REPORTS TO: Operations Supervisor SUMMARY: This position is responsible for receiving, organizing, and processing all incoming product and returns, ensuring shipments are accurately verified and efficiently moved into inventory in a fast-paced warehouse environment. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Receives incoming products and verifies accuracy of shipments against Bills of Lading (BOLs). Offloads inbound trailers and returns on a daily basis. Inspects and sorts product based on quality and condition. Organizes and puts away product in designated storage areas in a timely manner. Processes returns and exchanges according to company policies. Restocks picking locations in the warehouse to ensure product is ready to be pulled. Rotates date-sensitive product to ensure FIFO (first in, first out). Assists in maintaining a clean and organized work environment. Assists with other items and tasks as needed, including helping to pull daily orders. Performs other related duties as assigned by management. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This job has no supervisory responsibilities. QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma or GED, six months to one year related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Certificates, licenses and registrations required: Fork-Lift Certificate. Computer skills required: Time & Labor Management System; and Electronic Mail Software (Outlook). Other skills required: Excellent written and oral communication skills. Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills. Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work closely with peers on team orientated goals. Ability to follow company directives and instruction. In-depth knowledge of vehicle diagnostic equipment and mechanical systems. PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT: Continually required to sit. Frequently required to stand and/or walk. Occasionally required to climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel or crawl. Occasionally exposed to the following outside weather conditions: extreme heat and/or cold, wet and/or humid. While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is usually very loud. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
