The Role The Receiving Manager keeps the shop running behind the scenes. You'll own everything that comes through our back door: incoming merchandise, inventory tracking, and stockroom operations for our SoHo location. You'll manage delivery logistics, inspect every shipment for quality and damage, and keep the sales floor full, fresh, and beautifully organized. You'll also lead the people who make it happen, training, coaching, and developing the team members who support receiving and stock, and setting the standard for how product is cared for at Feste. When the floor looks effortless, it's because this role made it so. What You'll Do Receiving & Inventory Shipment Processing: Unload, inspect, and log daily deliveries, checking packing slips against purchase orders for accuracy. Inventory Control: Create purchase orders and maintain precise inventory records in Shopify. Product Handling: Unbox, inspect, and organize a high volume of home goods and accessories, taking special care with fragile pieces. Stockroom Organization: Keep the back of house clean, safe, and set up for efficient merchandise processing. Floor Coordination: Work with sales associates and store leadership to get stock to the floor quickly. Vendor Resolution: Resolve damaged goods, vendor discrepancies, and missing items promptly, keeping our relationships with small makers strong. Leadership & Team Development Coaching & Mentorship: Train, coach, and develop the team members who support receiving and stock. Be a hands-on mentor and problem solver, giving clear, timely feedback and recognizing great work. Team Education: Teach receiving standards, product care, and Shopify processes so every team member can handle merchandise with confidence. Share product knowledge and new arrivals with the sales team through daily touchpoints. Standards & Accountability: Set clear expectations for accuracy, speed, and back-of-house standards, and hold the team to them with consistency and care. Scheduling: Partner with the Store Manager to schedule receiving and stock support around delivery volume, seasonal peaks, and event weekends. Talent: Help identify and onboard great people, and invest in each team member's growth to build a pipeline of future Feste leaders. Insights & Feedback: Bring team, vendor, and process insights back to store leadership, and suggest improvements that make product flow faster and smarter. What You Bring Experience: 5+ years of retail receiving, stock management, or logistics experience. Leadership: Experience training, coaching, or supervising a team, with a genuine interest in developing people.
