Receiving & Inventory Specialist
Jules Borel & Co.Who We Are We are a family-owned and operated company. We have been in business for over 100 years, and the company is currently being managed by the 3rd and 4th generations of the family. We have a team of approximately 20 employees. Our employees are like family, and we have extremely low employee turnover. In fact, several of our employees have been with us for more than 20 years! Several years ago, we moved out of downtown Kansas City and into a fully renovated building in Kansas City, Kansas. Our primary business is sourcing and importing high-end watchmaking tools, equipment, and parts from manufacturers in Switzerland and Europe and distributing them to professional watchmakers, jewelers, and high-profile luxury watch brands across the United States. We have a great team here, and everyone works closely together. We enjoy celebrating holidays with company meals and gatherings. We are excited about what the future will bring, and we are excited to speak with you! Who We Are Looking For We are looking for someone with high integrity who does not like to bounce around and wants long-term security. Being a small company, we all work hard and wear many different hats. Flexibility and a willingness to help each other as a team are critical. The right person will be dependable, organized, physically capable, and willing to take ownership of their work from beginning to end. This position requires an unusual combination of physical ability and strong attention to detail. We receive everything from very small watch parts to large pieces of equipment. The person handling these products must care about getting every quantity, item number, serial number, label, and inventory location correct. This is not simply a job moving boxes from one place to another. Receiving errors can affect our inventory, accounting records, customer orders, and the ability of our team to serve customers. We are looking for someone who understands that the details matter and takes genuine pride in doing the job correctly. The process begins when a UPS or FedEx package, freight shipment, or pallet arrives at our building. This person will inspect the shipment, verify the contents, record the receipt in our computer system, identify and document discrepancies, verify serial numbers when applicable, label the products, identify backordered items, and ensure that everything is placed in the correct inventory location. This person will also take responsibility for making sure that products have an appropriate place to be stored. If an existing location does not have sufficient room, the Receiving & Inventory Specialist will reorganize the area or create a new location and label it properly. The position also supports our outbound shipping operation by assisting with the preparation and palletization of larger outgoing shipments. Our warehouse is probably not what you would generally imagine. It is a clean, well-lit, temperature-controlled space designed for both warehousing products and office work. However, this is still a physically demanding position that requires frequent lifting, carrying, standing, walking, bending, and moving products throughout the day.
