What You’ll Do The receiving clerk accepts, inspects, and logs incoming shipments, unloads delivery trucks and updates inventory records. Unload and inspect: Safely remove goods from delivery trucks and check for visible damage or missing items. Verify orders: Match package contents, packing slips, and quantities directly against purchase orders and vendor invoices. Update records: Enter incoming stock data into digital inventory databases or warehouse software. Organize stock: Label, sort, and place items onto correct shelves, racks, or storage zones. Manage issues: Report damaged goods, wrong items, or shortages to managers or suppliers. What You’ll Bring Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent. Attention to detail: Spotting item discrepancies and recording precise inventory counts. Physical stamina: Ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy boxes (often 50 pounds or more). Technical skills: Basic computer literacy and experience with warehouse scanners or database spreadsheets. Communication: Working smoothly with delivery drivers, vendors, and internal team members.
