The Opportunity The Receiving Associate is responsible for supporting the accurate and efficient flow of incoming inventory at Bright Eyed, with a strong focus on fresh produce and other perishable goods. This role ensures deliveries are properly received, inspected for quality, verified against purchase orders, and accurately documented and stored. Working closely with purchasing, warehouse, and operations teams, the Receiving Associate also supports inventory control, purchase order management, and overall warehouse organization. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced food production and warehouse environment. Essential Job Responsibilities Receive, inspect, and verify incoming deliveries, with a strong focus on fresh produce and perishable goods. Verify products and quantities against purchase orders, packing slips, and invoices to ensure receiving accuracy. Inspect products for quality, freshness, damage, expiration concerns, and other discrepancies. Report shortages, overages, damaged goods, and quality concerns promptly and assist with resolving receiving discrepancies. Ensure products are properly labeled, stored, organized, and rotated according to FIFO standards. Maintain accurate receiving records, inventory data, and supporting documentation. Assist with preparing, organizing, and verifying purchase orders and communicating inventory or ordering needs. Support inventory counts, reconciliation, stock organization, replenishment, and product rotation. Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient receiving and warehouse area. Communicate professionally with vendors, delivery drivers, purchasing, and internal operations teams. Follow all food safety, sanitation, product handling, and workplace safety procedures. Support additional commissary and warehouse operations based on daily business needs. Previous experience in receiving, warehouse operations, grocery, food distribution, or a commissary environment preferred. Knowledge of fresh produce handling, storage, and quality standards strongly preferred. Experience working with purchase orders, invoices, receiving documentation, and inventory systems is a plus. Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify product quality and inventory discrepancies. Strong organizational, time-management, and problem-solving skills. Ability to prioritize and work efficiently in a fast-paced, hands-on environment. Dependable, punctual, proactive, and team-oriented. Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with vendors and cross-functional teams. Ability to lift, carry, and move products weighing up to 50 lbs. Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive physical tasks throughout the shift. Ability to work Monday–Friday from 6:00 AM–2:00 PM and adjust to extended hours based on operational needs.
