Lane AutomotiveReceiving Associate Job Description Reports to: Receiving Supervisor/Manager Hours: 1st Shift (Monday-Friday 7:00AM - 3:30PM) Position Summary: The Receiving Associate is responsible for receiving vendor shipments by checking in product via an I-Pod device. Supervisory Responsibilities: The position has no supervisory responsibilities. Key Responsibilities: Receive vendor shipments via purchase order number and customer returns. Inspect and verify for correct amounts, description, label accuracy, quality assurance, and disposition of product. Label/package product according to standardized procedures. Document product overages, shortages and damages. Log and communicate shipment errors. Stage received product. Build necessary pallets for incoming product. Perform stock/pallet moves to recommended stage locations. Assist Inventory Control with product storage slotting. Work in team environment. Promote and maintain a clean and safe work environment by complying with procedures, policies, training, and regulations. Ensure established policies and procedures are followed. Participate in continuous improvement project team activities. Partake in overall housekeeping of distribution center including cleaning, organizing, dusting, sweeping, etc. Other duties as assigned. Education/Experience/Qualifications: High School diploma or GED, required. Skills & Abilities: Ability to effectively communicate with leadership, managers, leads, and peers through speaking, listening, and writing. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and other job-related equipment and software. Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively in a team environment. Willing to participate in Company designated training. Ability to work with minimum supervision/guidance. Adapt to frequent changes in the work environment. Must have knowledge of and comply with the policies and procedures contained in the company handbook. Must be able to practice safe work habits. Physical Demands: This is a General Warehouse position that requires sitting, standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, and use of hands continuously for eight hours. This position requires lifting/moving up to 50 pounds and occasionally with assistance lifting/moving up to 100 pounds. This position requires extended amounts of time walking and climbing stairs. This position requires frequent work time beyond an eight-hour shift/40-hour week including shift rotation and weekends. This position requires the operation of basic office equipment.
