Receiving and Materials Handler

The Receiving and Materials Handler is a hybrid role that keeps materials moving into, through, and out of the Carnivore Snax facility. On delivery days, this person receives inbound shipments of raw meat, records the weight of every box in the receiving Google Sheet, and puts product away in the freezers in an organized, safe, FIFO-ready way. On non-delivery days, the associate stages raw meat and kits packaging materials for the next production day and supports order fulfillment. All materials are issued out of the inventory system (Odoo) at the time of staging, so inventory records stay accurate and each department starts the day with exactly what the plan requires. This role suits someone who likes variety and the schedule is Monday-Friday 7am-3:30pm. Receiving (Delivery Days) Report on scheduled delivery days to unload and receive inbound shipments of raw meat and packaging materials. Check each shipment against the purchase order or bill of lading; note shortages, overages, or damaged boxes and report them to the Inventory team the same day. Weigh each box and accurately record the weight in the company receiving Google Sheet, along with product, supplier, lot/date, and any other required details. Check that frozen product arrives at proper temperature and maintain cold chain throughout unloading and put-away. Put meat away in the freezers promptly, organized by product and received date so the oldest stock is easiest to pull first (FIFO). Stack and store product safely: proper pallet heights, clear aisles, and nothing blocking freezer doors, exits, or equipment. Operate a forklift and pallet jack safely to unload trucks and move pallets. Raw Meat Staging (Prep Department) Review the next-day production plan and identify the raw meat types, cut codes, and quantities required by Prep. Pull raw meat from cooler/freezer storage following FIFO — oldest received/production dates are always pulled first. Stage raw meat onto pallets by production run, clearly labeled with product, lot/date, quantity, and scheduled production day. Verify pulled quantities against the production plan before staging is complete; report shortages immediately. Packaging Materials Kitting (Packaging Department) Pull and stage pouches, oxygen absorbers, labels, and other packaging components required for the next production day. Kit materials by SKU/run so Packaging can start production without searching for materials. Rotate all packaging materials by receipt date (FIFO). Confirm counts of pouches and oxygen absorbers against plan quantities, allowing for standard overage where specified. Fulfillment (Non-Delivery Days) Pick, pack, and prepare customer orders accurately and on time according to order details and packing standards. Verify products, quantities, and labels before orders are sealed and shipped. Prepare shipping labels and stage outbound orders for carrier pickup. Keep the fulfillment area stocked with boxes, packing materials, and supplies. Inventory System Transactions Issue (transact out) all staged raw meat and packaging materials in Odoo at the time of staging, so system quantities match physical quantities. Make sure the correct lot/serial numbers are consumed to preserve FIFO and traceability. Record and communicate any discrepancies between system and physical stock to the Inventory team. Material Requests Beyond the Plan Departments may not pull additional materials directly from storage.
