Job Summary The Rural Carrier Associate is responsible for delivering mail and packages to rural areas, ensuring timely and accurate service. This role requires a strong commitment to customer satisfaction, as well as the ability to operate various types of vehicles and equipment safely. The ideal candidate will possess excellent driving skills and be comfortable with manual transmission vehicles, heavy lifting, and operating forklifts or pallet jacks. Duties Deliver mail and packages to designated rural routes in a timely manner. Operate delivery vehicles, including box trucks and vans, ensuring compliance with all safety regulations. Load and unload mail and packages from vehicles, utilizing equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts as necessary. Maintain accurate records of deliveries and pickups, ensuring all mail is accounted for. Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries and concerns from customers during deliveries. Perform routine vehicle inspections to ensure safe operation, reporting any maintenance needs promptly. Assist in moving mail within distribution centers or post offices as required. Requirements Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Experience with manual transmission vehicles is preferred. Ability to perform heavy lifting (up to 70 pounds) as required during loading and unloading tasks. Familiarity with commercial driving practices is a plus. Previous experience operating forklifts or pallet jacks is advantageous. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are essential for maintaining delivery accuracy. Ability to work independently while managing time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
