Raw Materials Operator Bay City, Oregon Starting at $19.00 per hour 2nd Shift Premium: +$1.00 per hour Full-Time | Monday-Friday 2nd Shift: 2:30 PM - 11:00 PM Looking for steady work with a great team? Tillamook Country Smoker is hiring Raw Material Tempering Operators to support our production team by receiving frozen meat products, operating tempering equipment, and ensuring raw materials are ready for manufacturing. What You'll Do Receive and inspect incoming frozen meat shipments for damage, quality concerns, and proper documentation Verify product quantities, lot codes, and temperatures against receiving records and purchase orders Operate industrial tempering (microwave) equipment to thaw frozen meat products to required processing specifications Load and unload pallets of frozen product using forklifts, pallet jacks, or other material handling equipment Monitor tempering cycles, product temperatures, thaw times, and equipment performance Record temperature readings and maintain accurate food safety and production documentation Coordinate with production teams to ensure tempered product is available when needed Move raw materials to designated storage and production staging areas Inspect and report equipment malfunctions or maintenance concerns Maintain clean and organized receiving, storage, and tempering areas Follow food safety, HACCP, GMP, sanitation, and workplace safety requirements Help ensure inventory accuracy and product traceability Work as part of a team to support efficient production operations What We're Looking For Must be 18 or older High school diploma or equivalent preferred Experience in food manufacturing, warehousing, receiving, or meat processing preferred Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification Able to lift up to 50 pounds Comfortable working in refrigerated and frozen environments Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures Basic math and recordkeeping skills Reliable and ready to work Manufacturing or food production experience is a plus What to Expect This is an active, hands-on role in a food manufacturing environment where you'll work around frozen and raw meat products, material handling equipment, and industrial tempering systems. You are expected to be able to: Stand and move throughout most of the shift Frequently use hands and arms to handle products, equipment, and tools Lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds Frequently bend, reach, twist, and perform other physical tasks as needed Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely Work in refrigerated, frozen, and production environments Handle raw meat products and work around typical food manufacturing sights, smells, and equipment Follow verbal instructions and work closely with team members Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) based on assigned tasks Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), HACCP requirements, and all food safety standards Follow safety, quality, and food manufacturing procedures at all times Work overtime, weekends, or holidays as needed to support production demands Why Join Tillamook Country Smoker?
