Raw Material Coordinator

Apple Valley Foods Inc. is a food manufacturer located in Kentville, Nova Scotia with sales throughout North America. The company is currently seeking a detail-orientated Raw Material Coordinator to work in a fast paced, progressive and growing environment. Reporting to the Purchasing Manager, the successful candidate will: Able to carry out all required aspects of purchasing, inventory management and control including shipment, loading and storage activities Responsible for processing of purchasing transactions and maintaining inventory to meet production requirements Work effectively with planners, buyers, supplies and production managers Minimize material shortages to ensure the production schedule is attained. Make alternate arrangements in the event of shortages or delays to minimize impact Identify, recommend and implement ways to improve inventory holdings Participate in departmental and interdepartmental meetings as required Maintain accurate inventory. Identify obsolete and excess inventory Generate reports through Excel as required The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and experience: Post-secondary education in Inventory, Purchasing or Business is preferred or equivalent experience (minimum 5 years) Energetic and able to keep on top of various projects Strong time management and organizational skills are required Strong knowledge of MS Office programs including Word, Excel and Outlook Advanced Excel skills required Previous experience with Syspro/MRP systems would be an asset Follow all company, Food Safety and Health & Safety policies Possess strong written, verbal and oral communication skills Pay: From $32.15 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week Benefits: Dental care Disability insurance Employee assistance program Extended health care Life insurance On-site parking Paid time off RRSP match Vision care Work Location: In person
