Job Description
The Rail Car Loader is responsible for safely and efficiently loading railcars with sweetener at a terminal facility while supporting general loading and unloading operations for trucks and other equipment.
Responsibilities
• Railcar Loading — Load railcars with sweetener following strict safety, weight, and quality standards.
• Truck Loading & Unloading — Assist with loading/unloading trucks and move materials to designated areas.
• Assembly Support — Perform basic assembly tasks related to loading operations.
• Hand Tool Use — Operate basic hand tools to support loading, unloading, and assembly.
• Safety Compliance — Follow all terminal safety guidelines in indoor and outdoor environments.
• Equipment Inspection — Inspect equipment and work areas before use; report hazards immediately.
• Work Area Organization — Maintain a clean, organized work area to support safe operations.
• Overtime Support — Work overtime as required to meet delivery schedules and operational demands.
Essential Skills
• Proficiency with basic hand tools
• Comfortable working indoors/outdoors in varying temperatures and weather conditions
• Strong safety awareness and ability to follow instructions
• Willingness to work overtime
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chattanooga, TN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.13 - $20.45/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
