Position Summary The Quality Technician supports supplier quality, internal auditing, and Quality Management System (QMS) compliance in a high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environment. This role uses supplier performance data and ProShop ERP to monitor quality, maintain required records, support audits, resolve supplier issues, and drive continuous improvement. The Quality Technician works closely with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Engineering, and Mission Assurance and must demonstrate strong attention to detail and clear communication. Key Responsibilities Support and comply with Cogitic's Quality Management System and applicable quality standards. Conduct internal audits to ISO 9001, MIL-I-45208 ISR1, and other applicable requirements, and support customer and QMS registrar audits. Maintain the Approved Supplier List (ASL) and use supplier performance data, charts, and reports to support data-driven decisions. Monitor, track, and communicate supplier quality and delivery performance internally and with suppliers. Conduct supplier quality audits and oversight activities, including travel as needed. Identify and respond to supplier quality and delivery problems and lead root cause and corrective action activities with suppliers. Participate in internal root cause and corrective action activities and maintain nonconformance reports (NCRs), corrective action requests (CARs), and preventive action requests (PARs). Use ProShop ERP to create, monitor, verify effectiveness, close, and maintain quality records and other assigned operational data. Build effective cross-functional relationships with suppliers and internal teams, including Supply Chain, Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Mission Assurance. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, demonstrate Cogitic's core values, and follow all company policies and safety requirements, including use of required personal protective equipment. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Quality, Manufacturing, Welding, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field strongly preferred. At least five years of experience in a manufacturing environment, or a completed college internship in manufacturing plus three years of manufacturing experience, required. Knowledge of ISO 9001 auditing practices and quality management systems. Ability and willingness to travel for supplier oversight as needed is required. Ability to read, interpret, review, and use 2D and 3D blueprints and models, including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T). Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills. Proficiency with ERP systems, Microsoft Office, spreadsheets, presentations, and other technical software; ProShop ERP experience preferred. Ability to analyze supplier and operational data and communicate findings through charts, graphs, and reports. Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments and with suppliers. Ability to maintain a positive, adaptable approach when priorities shift to meet customer needs. Must be a U.S. Citizen, successfully pass a background check, and be eligible to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
