Our facilities include an 80,000 square foot fabrication shop, a 25,000 square foot climate controlled coating facility, and an 11 acre laydown yard. We provide in house detailing, fabrication, industrial coatings, modular assembly, field installation, millwrighting, and construction services to clients across North America. ProMart continues to grow across the nuclear, mining, defence, data centre, petrochemical, infrastructure, and industrial sectors. We are looking for an experienced Quality Inspector to help ensure our work meets the drawings, specifications, codes, and quality requirements of every project. The Role The Quality Inspector will perform receiving, in process, welding, dimensional, coating, final, and release inspections on fabricated steel and industrial components. This is a hands on shop floor position for someone who understands fabrication, knows what quality work looks like, and is comfortable raising concerns when something does not meet requirements. The successful candidate will also support projects completed under ProMart’s CSA N299.3 nuclear quality assurance program. This includes maintaining material traceability, completing accurate inspection records, supporting hold and witness points, and helping assemble complete project turnover packages. Responsibilities Perform receiving, in process, dimensional, welding, coating, final, and release inspections Review drawings, specifications, welding symbols, inspection and test plans, work instructions, and project requirements before completing inspections Verify material grades, heat numbers, dimensions, quantities, and supporting material documentation Maintain material identification and traceability throughout fabrication Inspect fit up, joint preparation, hole locations, orientation, dimensions, tolerances, and overall workmanship Perform visual welding inspections and verify weld size, length, profile, location, and acceptance criteria Confirm welders are properly qualified and using the correct welding procedure and consumables Verify fabrication is completed in accordance with approved drawings, procedures, specifications, and applicable codes Complete required hold point and witness point inspections Coordinate nondestructive examination and third party inspection activities when required Identify nonconforming work and ensure it is properly documented, controlled, corrected, and reinspected Prepare clear and accurate inspection reports, checklists, weld maps, deficiency reports, and other quality records Confirm measuring and inspection equipment is calibrated, suitable, and properly controlled Support client inspectors, auditors, engineers, and third party representatives during shop visits Review inspection and quality documentation for accuracy and completeness Assist with project data books, turnover packages, and nuclear quality records Work closely with production, project management, detailing, procurement, coatings, and quality personnel Communicate concerns early so they can be resolved before they affect downstream work Support internal audits, corrective actions, root cause investigations, and continual improvement activities Follow all ProMart safety, quality, and operating procedures What We Are Looking For Previous quality inspection experience in a structural steel, welding, industrial fabrication, or construction environment Strong knowledge of fabrication, welding processes, inspection practices, and workmanship requirements The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, shop drawings, welding symbols, specifications, and inspection requirements Experience using tape measures, squares, levels, calipers, micrometers, weld gauges, and other inspection equipment Working k…
