ourselves on cold-chain integrity, speed, and exceptional safety standards. We are looking for a detail-oriented, reliable Fresh Produce Quality Inspector to join our warehouse team and ensure only the finest product reaches our customers.
Job Summary
As a Quality Inspector, you will be the gatekeeper of our product integrity. You will inspect incoming shipments from growers, monitor inventory freshness within our cold-storage facilities, and perform final checks on outgoing orders. This role requires a sharp eye, physical stamina, and a deep understanding of produce grade standards.
Key Responsibilities
• Inspect incoming produce for defects, maturity, sizing, color, temperature, and overall quality against USDA/CFIA grade standards.
• Document inspection findings accurately, including digital logs, photographs, and rejections.
• Monitor warehouse inventory rotation (FIFO) and identify aging or deteriorating stock.
• Sample and test produce sugars (Brix), firmness (Penetrometer), and pressure where required.
• Ensure cold-chain compliance by verifying trailer and storage zone temperatures.
• Collaborate with receiving and shipping teams to clear or reject loads efficiently.
• Maintain a clean, sanitized, and safe inspection environment in compliance with HACCP and food safety regulations.
Qualifications & Skills
• 1–3 years of experience in fresh produce inspection, quality control, or warehouse receiving.
• Strong knowledge of commodity-specific defects, ripening processes, and produce grading standards.
• Experience working in cold-storage environments (temperatures ranging from 0°C to 12°C / 32°F to 55°F).
• Familiarity with food safety programs such as HACCP, SQF, or GLOBALG.A.P.
• Excellent communication skills to interface with buyers, warehouse staff, and vendors.
• Proficient with digital logging tools, warehouse management systems (WMS), or iPad-based inspection apps.
• Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 lbs consistently throughout the shift.
