Purchasing Supervisor
City of ScottsdaleIntroduction This position performs professional level purchasing duties associated with creating and processing a wide variety of informal and formal solicitations. Reviews, drafts, and negotiates contracts and resolves contract problems, working with vendors and staff. The Purchasing Department has earned the NPI Achievement of Excellence in Procurement (AEP) Award for the past three consecutive years, recognizing its commitment to innovation, efficiency, and best-in-class procurement practices. The department leverages modern technology tools, including Euna Procurement for end-to-end e-procurement workflows and Oracle Fusion as the City’s enterprise resource planning (ERP) platform, to streamline processes, enhance transparency, and support data-driven decision-making. The department collaborates closely with internal divisions, external suppliers, and community stakeholders to ensure high-quality, cost-effective procurement outcomes that align with organizational goals and promote responsible stewardship of public resources. Anticipated starting salary for this position may be up to mid-point depending on candidate’s experience and internal equity. The full salary range is listed above and mid-point for this position is $104,748.80 annually. Minimum Qualifications Education and Experience Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business or Public Administration or related field from an accredited educational institution. Three years of related experience with knowledge of purchasing and contract negotiation. Must have at least one year of Lead or Supervisory experience. Preferred: Purchasing certification such as Certified Professional Public Buyer (CPPB), Certified Professional Public Purchasing Officer (CPPO) or Certified Public Manager (CPM). Licensing, Certifications And Other Requirements Every person employed by the City of Scottsdale shall reside in the State of Arizona during his or her active employment by the City, regardless of whether the employee is approved to remote work. Other pertinent licenses and/or certifications may be required of some positions depending on division/department/service assignment.
