To support our growing operations, we are looking for a detail-oriented Purchasing Specialist to handle procurement of materials, supplies, and services, ensuring that our manufacturing facility operates efficiently and without delay. Job Responsibilities : Execute purchase orders for raw materials, parts, tools, and services required for production in a timely and cost-efficient manner. Research, identify, and negotiate with suppliers to source high-quality materials that meet technical specifications and quality standards. Monitor inventory levels and place orders to avoid material shortages or production delays. Collaborate with internal departments (production, engineering, and quality control) to understand material requirements and ensure timely delivery. Maintain relationships with existing suppliers while identifying new potential vendors for better pricing, quality, or delivery terms. Review purchase requisitions, supplier contracts, and order confirmations to ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations. Track orders and shipments, resolving any issues related to delivery, pricing discrepancies, or product quality. Maintain accurate purchasing records, including invoices, contracts, and supplier evaluations. Assist in managing supplier performance and conducting periodic assessments to ensure continued quality and efficiency. Stay informed on market trends, pricing, and material availability to support cost-saving initiatives. Support Manufacturing Engineer and Director of Operations as appropriate with quoting of material cost & outside processes for accurate price & lead time on active quote events. Additional Job Functions : Possess the ability and willingness to work all shifts and hours assigned Perform other related duties as required or directed Required Skills & Qualifications : Proven experience as a Purchasing Agent, Buyer, or in a similar procurement role, preferably in aerospace or manufacturing. Strong negotiation and communication skills. Ability to read and understand technical specifications, blueprints, and engineering drawings. Knowledge of purchasing processes, inventory control, and supply chain management. Proficiency with procurement software and ERP systems. Detail-oriented with strong organizational and multitasking skills. Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to meet deadlines and production requirements. Basic understanding of aerospace industry standards (e.g., AS9100) and quality control processes is preferred. Preferred Qualifications : Certification in procurement or supply chain management (e.g., CPSM, CPIM) is a plus. Previous experience in aerospace manufacturing or similarly regulated industries. Education Requirements : High school diploma or equivalent is required. Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business administration, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory if there is equivalent experience.
