Purchasing Specialist Job Classification Job Type: Full-Time Location: Georgetown, TX Office FLSA Status: Exempt Reports To: Procurement Manager Job Summary The Purchasing Specialist is responsible for sourcing, procuring, and managing production materials, products, and services to support manufacturing and operational requirements. This role ensures timely delivery, cost-effectiveness, and quality of purchased items while maintaining strong vendor relationships and accurate purchasing records. Key Responsibilities Receive and review purchase requisitions for accuracy, approvals, and completeness. Prepare and issue purchase orders in compliance with company policies. Source and evaluate suppliers based on quality, cost, reliability, and service. Track supplier acknowledgements and shipment dates to ensure on-time delivery. Escalate and communicate shipment delays. Collaborate with internal departments, including production, engineering, and quality, to meet material requirements. Maintain accurate purchasing records and vendors with ERP System. Negotiate pricing and delivery terms with suppliers. Support inventory management by tracking materials, optimizing order quantities, and avoiding stock-outs. Assist in identifying cost-saving opportunities and process improvements. Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required Minimum 2 years of experience in purchasing or procurement, preferably in a manufacturing environment Knowledge of purchasing processes, inventory management, and vendor relations. Proven negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency with ERP or purchasing systems. Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills. Work performed in a professional office environment with minimal exposure to noise, temperature changes, or other environmental factors.
