Job Duties & Responsibilities
· Supplier Management (Request for Quotes RFQ, change management, contract negotiations, payment queries, dispute resolutions, supplier compliance etc.).
· Purchase goods, materials, and services that meet or exceed the cost, quality, and delivery targets.
· Utilize strategic sourcing practices to select best value suppliers, and execute sourcing as specified by internal processes.
· Assist with mitigation of any supply problems which may impact our business operations.
· Actively seek and implement opportunities for cost reductions, quality improvements, and speed of delivery with suppliers for the overall benefit of the company and our customers.
· Lead discussions with suppliers on changes to product, processes or cost that will affect the agreement or relationship.
· Assist discussions with suppliers on changes to product, processes or cost that will affect the agreement or relationship.
· Minimal travel to local suppliers.
· Develop and implement SOPs/Continuous Improvement opportunities for Purchasing Department.
· Uses company equipment/resources properly & safely and adheres to safety regulations.
· Perform related duties as assigned, within scope of Buyer role.
Qualifications/Desired Skills
· Bachelor's Level Degree: Supply Chain Management or similar. Equivalent work experience may also be considered.
· Minimum 5 Years of Purchasing Experience within the automotive, transportation, or related commodity industries.
· Knowledge of purchasing systems and related procedures.
· Planning, negotiations, and contract management experience.
· Ability to handle multiple tasks, with awareness of deadlines.
· Ability to identify processes needing improvement, and to recommend improvements.
· Nice to have but not required – Experience working in Plex.
