Purchasing & Production Scheduling Coordinator
Oxi Brite Inc.Oxi CP is an established manufacturer of household cleaning products for the Canadian market. We are looking for a full-time Purchasing & Production Scheduling Coordinator to join our team. The Purchasing & Production Scheduling Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating the flow of materials and production from purchase order through finished goods. You will work closely with suppliers, production, warehouse, quality, and management to ensure that the right materials are available at the right time and that production schedules are realistic, efficient, and achievable. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, proactive, and able to anticipate problems before they affect production. Responsibilities Purchasing & Supplier Management Manage day-to-day purchasing of raw materials, packaging components, labels, and other production supplies. Obtain pricing and lead-time information and issue purchase orders as required. Monitor supplier performance, including pricing, quality, delivery, and responsiveness. Maintain strong working relationships with key suppliers. Track outstanding purchase orders and follow up on late or delayed deliveries. Identify potential material shortages and proactively develop solutions. Work with management to identify cost-saving and purchasing opportunities. Maintain accurate purchasing records, pricing, lead times, and supplier information. Production Scheduling Develop and maintain daily and weekly production schedules based on customer demand, inventory, staffing, equipment capacity, and material availability. Coordinate production priorities and communicate schedules clearly to the production team. Adjust schedules as needed to accommodate urgent orders, equipment downtime, material delays, or changing customer requirements. Ensure production schedules are achievable and aligned with available resources. Monitor production progress and proactively address potential delays. Coordinate production requirements with purchasing and warehouse activities. Inventory & Material Planning Monitor inventory levels of raw materials, packaging, and finished goods. Establish appropriate purchasing quantities and timing based on demand and lead times. Help maintain accurate inventory levels and minimize excess, obsolete, or slow-moving materials. Identify potential stockouts before they impact production. Coordinate with warehouse personnel to ensure materials are available when required. Assist with inventory counts and investigate significant discrepancies. Cross-Functional Coordination Assist with customer order entry, review and coordination Communicate with customers regarding orders, shipping requirements and delivery timing Coordinate freight, shipping documentation and customer reporting Assist with invoicing, payment posting and other basic accounting functions Maintain accurate information within internal systems Provide general administrative and operational support Cross-train in key office functions to provide coverage and flexibility within the team Qualifications 3+ years of experience in purchasing, production planning, scheduling, inventory management, or manufacturing operations . Previous experience in customer service, administration, logistics, accounting or a manufacturing environment is an asset Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Excellent written and verbal communication skills Comfortable working with numbers and managing multiple priorities Strong computer skills and ability to quickly learn new systems Ability to work independently while also working effectively as part of a team We are looking for someone who is organized, dependable and comfortable handling a variety of responsibilities.
