Purchasing & Operations Coordinator
Genesis ChemicalsAbout Genesis Genesis is a custom formulator and manufacturer of high-performance chemical products — a full line of commercial detergents, specialty blends and industrial chemistries for customers across Canada. We’re a small, owners-run company, which means decisions get made quickly, the work is varied, and the people who do it are trusted to run their own areas. We measure ourselves on getting customers what they ordered, on time, every time, and on treating customers, suppliers and each other with integrity. As our production and warehouse operations continue to expand, we are looking for a sharp, business-minded Operations & Purchasing Coordinator to take ownership of our procurement, incoming logistics, inventory tracking, and core financial administration. The Role This is a high-impact operational role—not a traditional administrative or clerical position. This is the position that keeps the business supplied and the money moving. You’ll own purchasing of raw materials and packaging, coordinate inbound freight from suppliers in Canada, the US and overseas, run accounts receivable and payable, and keep inventory and records accurate so production can plan ahead. It’s a broad role that touches every part of the company — you’ll work directly with the owner, the plant, our customers and our suppliers. If you like being the person who knows where everything is and when it’s arriving, this is a good fit. Key Responsibilities Procurement & Vendor Management: Issue purchase orders for raw materials and packaging, track open supplier orders, verify pricing, and coordinate delivery schedules to keep production running smoothly. Freight & Receiving Logistics: Coordinate incoming shipments with freight carriers and our warehouse team, resolving bill-of-lading or delivery discrepancies quickly. Accounts Payable & Receivable: Manage full-cycle AR and AP, including issuing customer invoices and statements, processing vendor bills, reconciling three-way matches (PO, receiving log, invoice), and posting customer payments. Inventory & System Control: Maintain accurate raw material and finished goods inventory records within our business software, input production/cost data, and generate operational reports. Commercial Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact at our facility for raw material suppliers, and transport drivers (phone, email, and on-site). Compliance & Operational Support: Assist leadership with regulatory documentation, internal audits, safety/compliance records, and day-to-day operational coordination between the office and plant floor. What We Are Looking For Operational or Commercial Background: 2+ years of experience in purchasing, supply chain coordination, inventory control, industrial administration, or full-cycle bookkeeping/accounting (experience in manufacturing, chemical, agricultural, construction, or industrial distribution is a strong asset). Financial & Software Proficiency: Hands-on experience with accounting/ERP software (AR, AP, POs, and inventory modules) and strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Business Acumen: You understand how purchasing, inventory accuracy, and cash flow connect in a physical product business. Self-Directed Execution: High attention to detail, strong organizational discipline, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced production environment without micromanagement. Direct, Professional Communication: Confident communicating with freight dispatchers, chemical vendors, commercial buyers, and warehouse staff alike. Benefits & Perks Competitive compensation ($60,000-70,000/year depending on experience) Extended Health Care & Dental Care Paid Time Off Stable Monday–Friday schedule (8:00 AM – 4:30 AM) with an established, growing local manufacturer Why this job Real responsibility from day one, direct access to the owners, a wide variety of work, and a company that’s growing.
